In 2020, during the George Floyd protests, the victim who organized the 2015 lawsuit over the torture ring, Marqus "Red Bear" Martinez was, while filming himself live on Facebook, shot in the face with a crowd control "stingball" grenade from close range with a grenade launcher, which caused extreme injury. Other protesters were shot with rubber bullets, and at least one sustained a head injury. The attorney stated that all the protesters that were shot had been shot in the head or face, indicating that law enforcement had been aiming for the head and face.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

This was after the Jason Anglero-Wyrick incident. [7]
The Sheriff's wife, Natasha Whittinghill-Engram, while driving under the influence in a residential neighborhood in a Tesla, went over a curb, through a fence, crashed into a house, broke through the wall, and injured a resident inside with debris. Despite prior DUI convictions[8], she did no jail time (but was sentenced to community service), and only had to pay the victim $8,000[9].
"had prior convictions for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license" [10]
"A woman inside the house was injured by debris from the crash"[11]
"She is charged with one count each of driving under the influence causing injury and driving with a blood alcohol content of at least 0.08% causing injury."[12][13]
"had a blood-alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit"[14]
"Prosecutors allege she had a blood alcohol content of 0.2% or higher — more than twice the legal limit." [15]
