The National Technological University of South Lima (Spanish: Universidad Nacional Tecnológica de Lima Sur) is a public university located in the city of Lima, Peru. It was created by the peruvian Law No. 27431 of January 10, 2001 as the National Technological University of the Southern Cone of Lima, later called the National Technological University of Lima Sur by the Law No. 30184 of May 6, 2014. The university is responsible for educating professionals in, administration and engineering, as well as the production and dissemination of scientific and technological information with a focus on social responsibility, contributing to the development of the southern zone of Lima and the country.

History

Along with the emergence of the self-managed community of Villa El Salvador in the 1970s, the creation of a public university was included in its first comprehensive development plan as one of the educational institutions that the community should have, for which they were assigned land, in the area of Lomo de Corvina. Later, after the community was elevated to the category of district, its leaders promoted the creation of the university. On January 10, 2001, the National Technological University of the Southern Cone was created by Law No. 27431 promulgated by the government of Valentín Paniagua.

Campus

It is located in the Villa El Salvador district, at the intersection of Central and Bolívar avenues, near the Villa El Salvador station on line 1 of the Lima and Callao Metro.
