Copec S.A (initially, an acronym of Compañía de Petróleos de Chile) is a chilean oil distribution company, founded the 31 of october of 1934. The trademark Copec is part of the holding Empresas Copec.
Subsidiary of Copec Companies
[edit]The defined structure was the operative base of the successful performance of Copec during the last decade. In 2005, Sonamar was founded, a new subsidiary arisen from the maritime division of Sonacol. Also, the new Imported Products Terminal (IPT) of Quintero was constructed; this helped to face the overdemand of diesel from the energy generator companies, produced by the low precipitations and the argentinian gas supply problems from those years.

[edit]In the 80s, The company began to expand with an orientation to final consumer; installed, along with the fuels sales, urban minimarkets, and roadside convenience stores.
