About meI do not edit or otherwise contribute to any WikiMedia article or project on behalf of any employer, client, or affiliated person, organization, or other entity; nor do I receive any compensation for any edits or other contributions.
Welcome to user page of Bri, founding member of Cascadia Wikimedians User Group. In October, 2016, I partnered with Benjamin Mako Hill as a wiki ambassador at University of Washington Department of Communication for building successful online communities. Once upon a time I was interviewed for The Signpost. If you're interested in why I dabble in motorcycling articles, the report is archived. You may find me copyediting completely random articles, or other topics I have a special interest in, such as the Pacific Northwest and military history. I've also created some articles and the user essay User:Bri/What's wrong with undisclosed paid editing. I was quoted in The Times of Israel's May, 2017 story Wikipedia vs. Banc De Binary: A 3-year battle against binary options 'fake news'. I was cited in a 2020 academic paper on undisclosed paid editing. In June, 2017, I helped revive The Signpost, Wikipedia's newspaper of record, and in March–April and again September–November 2018, served as de facto editor in chief. As of July 2023, I am listed as a current member of the Editorial Board as an editor and as an Editor-in-chief emeritus. Any and all solicitations for funds directed towards me personally have been announced in multiple venues and are documented here: · 2018 rapid grant proposal · 2017 Wikimedia conference scholarship (Berlin) · 2016 WikiConference NA scholarship (San Diego)
