History

HEDBOX was founded as REDPRO on February 2009 in Switzerland. The initial business strategy was focused on the production and design of smaller DV Batteries and advanced Dual Battery Chargers with exchangeable battery charger plates. In further company development, the focus was placed on the design of stronger batteries for Professional Video use. To enable quick and easy delivery of its products to the complete European market, in 2013 the company registered and opens its first offices and warehouse in Slovenia - Sencur. To be competitive in the market, they decide to move the entire production from Switzerland to the People's Republic of China, Shenzhen district, leaving the complete product development R&D in Switzerland. In 2015 due to certain marketing benefits and requirements the company changed its name and trademark to HEDBOX. Under the new and strong leadership, in 2017 the company realizes its presence in the territory of the Middle East and Africa by opening a distribution center in United Arab Emirates - Dubai. Finally, in 2018, they achieve their business goal by opening a distribution center in USA - Nevada, Las Vegas, and announcing their full presence in the entire territory of South, Central, and North America.

Growth

From 2009 till 2013 Company had a market share on the territory of Europe of only 3% in Professional Video and Photo Industry. With a change in management and a significantly different business policy from 2013 until 2021, the company managed to increase its market share to 18% in the European territory, while the total market share on the entire world market is defined on a rough estimate of 7%.

Technology

HEDBOX Battery Cell Framing System

In partnership with LG and Samsung Lithium-Ion 18650 cells, HEDBOX uses revolutionary Cells Framing Construction Technology (CFC) to assemble battery packs. Available in V-Mount and Gold-Mount battery packs, CFC provides extra security and stability to the inner battery cells. Compared to all the other battery pack brands this new advanced system not only makes the HEDBOX batteries much safer for daily professional use but also transportation. Utilizing the wealth of knowledge and experience in precise production and product quality, gained by working with the camera and peripheral video manufacturers, gives HEDBOX a distinctive advantage in working with power-consumption devices. The unique HEDBOX design approach, coupled with features that customers have yearned for, leads to an outstanding product range of professional power solutions. Advanced Battery Management System (BMS) enables exceptional stability of the battery pack, both in regular operational work and in storage. HEDBOX chargers are among the few in the world that use a dual Lithium-Ion battery charging system. From 0% to 80% capacity the batteries, use the Constant Current Charging (CCC) method, and from 80% to 100% capacity, they switch to the Impulse Voltage Charging (IVC) method. In the latest versions of the chargers, the HEDBOX development team has included a third type of charging Trickle Charging (TC). In those charger models charging from 0% to 20% battery capacity use the Trickle Charge method, then from 20% to 80% CCC Method and from 80% to 100% IVC. This way of charging leads to the result of maximally charged batteries. As a leader in battery and power management solutions for creative users in the media and entertainment industry, HEDBOX’s product line-up includes DV Batteries, Pro batteries, Chargers, and V-Lock Battery Plates. With support from all of the major camera manufacturers and leading peripheral brands.

Products

Production possibilities are defined in several categories

Professional Video Battery Pack's

V-Mount and Gold-Mount Battery pack's with voltage of 14.4V and capacity of 98Wh / 150Wh / 200Wh and 300Wh. This battery pack's have certified Drop Test Certification from 1.8m or 70 inch high. Also itch model have European ECO Compliance Certificate and UN MSDS Report for safe transportation.

DV Battery Pack's

To support various Video and Photo products manufacturers HEDBOX has developed DV Battery packs with a voltage of 7.4V and capacity of 1050 mAh to 10400 mAh

Professional and DV Battery Chargers

This way of charging leads to the result of maximally charged batteries

Professional Video Power Banks

Video recording of Film and Video Productions takes place in the field outside the reach of the studio and regular power supply. The HEDBOX engineers have developed a unique way of backing up the power supply for the support of the power needed in the field. The Power Bank Set provides a continuous power supply of DC power for video, audio, and lighting equipment with the total independence of a regular AC power supply.

Feature

In September 2022 HEDBOX announced the expansion of its production capabilities and the potential opening of a Battery Pack factory for Solar Generators in Slovenia. With an investment of 75 million Euros, the company will join the growing challenges and market demand for renewable energy and the storage of that energy in safe and reliable battery systems. With increasing market demands for a safer way to store energy generated by solar power plants. The company is in an negotiations with CATL (world larges battery cell manufacturer) on the threshold of switching its Lithium-Ion batteries to Sodium-Ion battery technology. This technology will enable significantly safer battery cells that will be able to accept larger capacities of electrical energy and give better results of use in colder or warmer weather environments.
