Ekaterina (Katerina) Georgievna Fomina (Russian: Екатерина Фомина, born Moscow, Russia) is a Russian journalist.

Biography

Born in Moscow.[1] In 2009, she graduated from Gymnasium No. 1515, and in 2014, she graduated from the MSU Faculty of Journalism.[2]

From 2010 to 2019, she was a correspondent for Novaya Gazeta newspaper.[3] She has written on the topics of domestic violence, teen psychological issues, LGBT rights and women's rights.

Awards and recognition

In 2015, she was awarded first prize in the Overcoming competition[4], held by the All-Russian Society of Disabled Persons in cooperation with the Russian Union of Journalists for publications in Novaya Gazeta "I embrace you with my heart"[5], and "Sprout's coming through. Barely".[6]

In August 2022, she won the monthly journalism award "Editorial Board" for her article "The commander gave the order: 'Expense them'" in the publication "Important Stories".[7]
