Timothy J. O'Malley (born December 17, 1959) is an American priest of the Catholic Church who was appointed as auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2024.

Early life

O'Malley in Evergreen Park, Illinois on December 17, 1959. He attended Purdue University, earning a B.A. in economics, and afterwards DePaul University Law School, obtainind a Juris Doctor. After working for several years, he attended Mundelein Seminary and O'Malley was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 24, 1997.[1]

Episcopacy

Pope Francis appointed O'Malley auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Chicago, assigning him the titular see of Numida on December 20, 2024.[1][2][3] O'Malley is scheduled to be consecrated as a bishop in early 2025.[4]
