The Backrooms is an American upcoming supernatural horror film directed by Kane Parsons who also co-wrote the script with Roberto Patino.[1] The film is set to release in the US in 2025. The Backrooms is an adaptation of both the original 4Chan phenomenon The Backrooms and a 21-episode semi-animated (With new episodes still coming out) web series of the same name Backrooms (web series) which was also created and written by Kane Parsons.[1]
Production
[edit]There had already been talk for a backrooms movie in 2023, with Parsons confirming it in an interview with Anthony Padilla.[2] Parsons said in a Q&A That production would likely start in the summer of this year, with an early-to-mid 2025 release date.[3]
Cast
[edit]So far there is not much known about the cast and who's starring in the film, but Parsons had expressed that he would love for the actors from his original backrooms web series to potentially return in the movie, which potentionally opens up to more subplots.[4]
