Death toll
[edit]A total of 51 people died. The last person died seven weeks after the attack. The way I remember it is that there were 49 deaths at the two mosques and one person died in hospital soon after. I cannot find media reporting when that first hospital death occurred. Why that is of relevance is because the photo of the prime minister was taken within a day of the attack. At that point, there may have been 49 or 50 deaths. In total, there were 51 fatalities. I suggest that the eventual death toll is what matters and not how many people were dead at the time the photo was taken. If others concur, the sentence should be rephrased slightly. - I have rephrased the caption. The immediacy of her response was impressive. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:37, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. The terrorist attack itself was quite traumatic for me. Schwede66 18:02, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Schwede66 and Cwmhiraeth: This article in The Guardian (the same one quoted in the blurb) states "not 24 hours after 50 of their number had been gunned down", so I've rephrased the blurb's mentioning of the death toll accordingly. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 09:15, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
