Nielsen - New York City & Embedded Markets

[edit]

According to Market Populations & Rankings - Fall 2016 (PDF), the following markets are embedded within the NYC Metro market:

  • The Nassau-Suffolk (Long Island) Metro is embedded in the New York Metro.
  • Putnam, NY (population 86,700), Rockland, NY (population 270,200) and Westchester, NY (population 843,900) are included in the Hudson Valley and the New York Metro definitions.
  • The Middlesex-Somerset-Union Metro is embedded in the New York Metro.
  • Monmouth County (population 545,000) is included in the Monmouth-Ocean and the New York Metro definitions.
  • The Morristown, NJ Metro is embedded in the New York Metro.
  • The Stamford-Norwalk, CT Metro is embedded in the New York Metro.

This template is for NYC and its embedded markets only, and (as of Fall 2016) should only include links to the following market templates:

  • New York City
  • Hudson Valley
  • Long Island
  • Middlesex-Somerset-Union
  • Monmouth-Ocean
  • Morristown
  • Stamford-Norwalk.

Any other nearby markets that are not embedded within NYC metro (i.e. Bridgeport, Danbury, Trenton) can be listed in the "Other nearby radio markets" list on that market template.
