Alt text issue

[edit]

This template shows an image, and does give it an alternative text. But that text contains a character that screen readers might not read properly. How about changing it to "right arrow" or "arrow to the right"? – Pretended leer {talk} 20:57, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thinking more about it, it could sometimes be used to mean "therefore". That's another possible alt text, but only for places where it's used for that. So how about we make it an option?

  • {{arrow|right}} would mean [[File:Flecha tesela.svg|15px|link=|alt=right]].
  • {{arrow|therefore}} would mean [[File:Flecha tesela.svg|15px|link=|alt=therefore]] and so on. Or should we use a named option like {{arrow|alt=something}}? A named option with a number shortcut? And what should we use if nothing is specified? – Pretended leer {talk} 21:25, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Since nobody has commented on this but I'm editing a page that could use "therefore" as the alt text, I'm adding an option now. {{arrow|alt=Therefore}} is what I'll be using there. Also, since ZxxZxxZ was the user who added an alt text in the first place, I'm mentioning them here in case they want to mention their opinion (I'm not saying they have to). – Pretended leer {talk} 21:32, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Diagonals

[edit]

Any way to create a diagonal arrow (pointing up and to the right)? Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 18:31, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you're looking for {{Arrow2}}. Primefac (talk) 18:33, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
