This is a route-map template for the Loop, a rapid transit line in Chicago.

Note: Per consensus and convention, most route-map templates are used in a single article in order to separate their complex and fragile syntax from normal article wikitext. See these discussions [1],[2] for more information.

This map depicts operating conditions from 1993 to 1997.

The Ravenswood/Brown Line operated in a circuit around the Outer Loop track. The Evanston Express/Purple Line Express and Orange Line operated in a circuit around the Inner Loop track. The Lake-Dan Ryan and its successor, the Green Line, operated only on the Lake and Wabash sides on both tracks.

Lake-Dan Ryan service was replaced with the Green Line on February 21, 1993. The Orange Line began operating on October 31, 1993.

Madison/Wells closed on January 30, 1994, to make way for the construction of Washington/Wells. Washington/Wells opened July 17, 1995, with Randolph/Wells closing the same day.
