Template:Textfix/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The {{tf}} or {{textfix}} template corrects the inputted value into acceptable Wikipedia formatting (i.e., capitalized first letter of first word with lower case for all further letters and words).

Usage

[edit]

The primary use of this template is as a meta-template, called within another template to ensure that a user's inputted value is outputted in the proper format. This template should not be used in instances where the inputted value might be a name of a person or place, as it will not capitalize any words other than the first.

{{tf | parameter 1 | parameter 2 | parameter 3 }}

If only parameter 1 is inputted, then parameter 1 is text fixed. Otherwise, write either w or wiki into parameter 1 which will cause the final result to be a wikilink — either parameter 2 as the destination link and shown result or parameter 2 as the destination link with parameter 3 as the shown result.

Please note: The wikilink function will only be applied if the article in question exists. Otherwise, the template will solely return the shown result.
