William Nicholas (officer)
- ... that during the bloody Siege of Badajoz William Nicholas (pictured) was wounded by musket-ball and bayonet, but continued to give orders, and was carried up the breach, only to be shot again? Source: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Dictionary_of_National_Biography,_1885-1900/Nicholas,_William

- Comment: I've only nominated 2 articles for DYK without doing a QPQ, so technically I have 1 more freebie left after this one

- Hook fact needs to be directly cited in the article. Currently only a range of pages is given at the end of the paragraph (this can also apply to the rest of the article, which is sparsely cited). Also, I don't believe that text copied verbatim from a public domain source counts towards the 1,500 character requirement, even if there's no copyvio. (So I would not even consider the article "long enough"). Cheers, KINGofLETTUCE 👑 🥬 11:19, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- I'm working on expanding the article to hopefully meet the length requirement. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 09:40, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Kingoflettuce: I think this should meet the 1500 character length requirement now. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 09:46, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
- Article looks good. Hook is interesting enough for me to approve. Onegreatjoke (talk) 18:42, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
