Hi MelanieN, review follows: article created 2 October and exceeds minimum length; article is cited inline throughout to reliable sources; I didn't see anything too concerning in checking the article against sources for close paraphrasing, some similar phrasings but probably unavoidable; hook is interesting, mentioned in the article and checks out to source cited; a QPQ has been carried out. - I saw this DYK nom listed at Women in Red and I was intrigued and started to improve the article. Extra ref gave a new link and slightly different version of story. It appears to me that Cary Grant "inspired" or "suggested" rather than "taught". I think it would run well with picture I added. @TJMSmith: Nice nom. Victuallers (talk) 10:01, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the additions and suggestion, Victuallers. I would prefer not to use the picture in the DYK, because it shows chopped chicken salad rather than shredded. As for Cary Grant, there were several reliable sources that say he taught her how to make shredded chicken salad, so I prefer to stay with "taught". That "Her Story" source is full of new detail, but I wonder how reliable it is. It apparently came from her own website, now archived, and was written at the time the restaurant was closing. But I noticed several errors, such as referring to King Yan Wu as "King Wu", and saying that "Grant" told her about the salad without ever specifying they meant Cary Grant.
