Ridder Arena, Robert Ridder, Kathleen Ridder
[edit]( Back to T:TDYK )

- ... that Robert and Kathleen Ridder helped the Women Gophers get an ice rink of their own (pictured)? Source 1 Source 2

- Comment: This my first attempt at a hook with more than one eligible article. The Ridder Arena article was expanded fivefold, and both articles for Robert and Kathleen Ridder are new, and less than seven days old.
5x expanded by Flibirigit (talk). Self-nominated at 01:14, 16 October 2018 (UTC).
- All three articles are new enough (two new, one 5x expanded), long enough, and well referenced. Hook is interesting and supported with sources. QPQs are done. Image is freely licensed. My main concern is that the "Later life" section of Kathleen Ridder is too closely paraphrased from this source, e.g. "She died April 3, 2017, at her home in Lantana, Florida." -Zanhe (talk) 04:06, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Zanhe: I have reworked the section in question. I am open to other suggestions, if you feel it could be improved. Flibirigit (talk) 13:51, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Flibirigit: Hello, I came to promote this, but I note that the arena's article states that it was the first arena built specifically for women's college ice hockey. Would it be okay for you to add it to the hook, or propose a hook based on it? Personally I feel that that fact is very interesting. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:39, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
I wrote the original hook trying to be as short as possible. I wanted to avoid saying "women's college ice hockey" because it is cumbersome in my opinion. This is best alternate I can think of. I credit @Yoninah: who helped me with wording the original hook. If you wanted to put this in the photo slot, I promise I won't be so quick to edit the next available prep set. - ALT1 ...
that Robert and Kathleen Ridder helped the Women Gophers get the first ice rink for ladies (pictured) in the NCAA?
-
- I try to avoid repeating the same word twice in a sentence. Flibirigit (talk) 12:17, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- Here are simpler options. It should be evident it's the Women's team in question. Flibirigit (talk) 13:01, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- I try to avoid repeating the same word twice in a sentence. Flibirigit (talk) 12:17, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- ALT2 ... that Robert and Kathleen Ridder helped the Gophers get the first ice rink for women (pictured) in the NCAA?
- ALT3 ... that Robert and Kathleen Ridder helped the Gophers get the first ice rink for women (pictured) in college hockey?
- This should be good to go then. Would recommend that this go up as the image hook. Either ALT2 or ALT3 are fine, but I have a slight preference for ALT2. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:18, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
