Prime number
[edit]- ... that although prime numbers have been studied since the time of the ancient Greeks, they had few real-world applications until the discovery of public-key cryptography in the 1970s? Sources: Greeks: [1]; few applications[2]; cryptography in the 1970s: [3]

- Was nominated the day after promoted to GA, I will assume that the GAN worked out any issues in the article (but I'll give it a read). Hook is about 180 characters long, is interesting, and is cited inline in the appropriate parts of the article. QPQ satisfied.
- For the hook, I was going to say that the comma before "although" should be removed, but now I'm not sure which I prefer. Chris857 (talk) 17:41, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- I don't feel strongly about that comma either. —David Eppstein (talk) 18:23, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
