Marion Miley
- ... that Marion Miley, a 1930s amateur golfer ranked second in the United States, was murdered at the age of 27? Source: "Miss Marion Miley, 27 years old, nationally known golf star, was killed...In 1939, she was ranked as the No. 2 woman golfer of the country." (Marion Miley, Golf Star, Is Slain By Gunmen in Kentucky Clubhouse - The New York Times)

- Comment: Eddie891 asked me to come and make this nomination, as discussed here, and they already did the QPQ, hence why the one listed above was done by Eddie.

- New enough, long enough, and adequately sourced. The only potentially-suspicious copying found by Earwig was the phrase "this time in the quarterfinals", a little too close for my taste but I think not a serious problem. QPQ done by proxy; I see no reason why not to accept that. The hook is interesting and adequately sourced. Per DYK rules, we need a footnote on the actual sentences of the article that match the hook claims; I made a tiny change in the lead punctuation so that this would be satisfied. Good to go. —David Eppstein (talk) 19:54, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
