Hook discussion The wording of the hook in this nomination led me to believe that Bostock's patrol captured Garluark twice. The Garluark article is more clear that his captures were by separate patrols, one by Fergusson and the other by Bostock. The Bostock article mentions only one capture of Garluark. The hook will need to be amended, with similar wording in the two corresponding articles. I'm open-minded as to the actual wording. Flibirigit (talk) 22:09, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Flibirigit, thanks for your review. A few suggestions for alternate hooks:
- ALT1 ... that in 1927-8 Lionel Bostock led a patrol that allowed for the destruction of a Nuer force led by Garluark almost entirely by aerial attack?
- ALT2 ... that after being captured and imprisoned by British Major Lionel Bostock the Nuer prophet Garluark was restored to his former position as ruler of a region of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan?
- ALT3 ... that the Nuer prophet Garluark was captured by British Major Lionel Bostock in 1928?
- ALT1 is adequate and similarily discussed in both articles. ALT2 is slightly more interesesting, but the article on Bostock does not mention anything about Garluark's restoration. It could be added quickly. ALT3 might be too simple, as it does not hint at a reason for the capture. Flibirigit (talk) 15:52, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- Flibirigit: I am wary of focusing too much on Garluark in Bostock's article but I've added a mention of his restoration - Dumelow (talk) 08:01, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
