  • Note: about 320 characters of the text were adapted from part of what I had written here about an hour earlier. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:56, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
  • New enough, long enough, meets core content policies. Hook cited to RS. It's a bit dry, though, for something with this kind of potential. How about ALT1: ... that the Green-legged Partridge of Poland is actually a chicken? --Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 16:16, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
  • At that point the image could be switched to this one, which is better but which I didn't propose because it doesn't show the legs as green. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:04, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
  • That's fine. Alternatively, it could run in the quirky slot. I did add "of Poland" into ALT1. --Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 17:31, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Comment Why "Partridge", and not "partidge"? Edwardx (talk) 14:10, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Probably because this is a breed and not a species? Anyway, I'd be willing to approve this now, but I don't know whether a new reviewer is needed for ALT1. --Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 14:20, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
  • What Jakec said – we capitalise breed names in Wikipedia, but no longer capitalise the common names of bird species (even though almost all reliable sources do). Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:43, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
If it's not too late, may I suggest an even catchier hook? It's based on a fact from the hatnote:
ALT2: ... that a Green-legged Partridge and a green-legged partridge belong to different species? — Kpalion(talk) 09:46, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
  • That's not cited in the article though. By the way, can someone come and review ALT1? --Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 13:02, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
It's cited that it's a chicken, so logically, it's not a partridge in general, and not a green-legged partridge in particular. But I won't insist. — Kpalion(talk) 13:45, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
  • going with ALT1 - which is sourced and is obviously described as a chicken in all sources. size and age ok, copyvio clear, good to go. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 12:31, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
