Disappearance of Heather Elvis
[edit]... that in the five years since the disappearance of Heather Elvis, there have been several trials related to the case but her whereabouts are still unknown?Source: "Both the Moorers were charged in connection with Elvis’ disappearance, but nearly five years later, the courts still haven't determined if they're responsible," New York Post- ALT1:
... that after Sidney Moorer's trial for allegedly kidnapping Heather Elvis five years ago today ended with a hung jury, he was indicted for conspiring to commit the crime?Source: "A grand jury indicted both Moorers for "conspiracy to kidnap" on Friday ... Sidney's kidnapping case ended with a mistrial.", WBTW - ALT2:
... that the suspects in the disappearance of Heather Elvis five years ago today were arrested on charges of murder, kidnapping and indecent exposure?"At a concurrent press conference and bond hearing Monday, prosecutors said Sidney Moorer and his wife, Tammy Caison Moorer, would face murder charges in connection with the Heather Elvis case ... [they have also been charged with kidnapping, obstruction of justice and two counts of indecent exposure.], Carolina Forest Chronicle.
- ALT1:
- Reviewed: Lackawanna Limited wreck
- Comment: Hat tip to Woody Allen for ALT2. Since this relates to the five year anniversary of the event, December 18, I request expedited review.

- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. QPQ done. Image in article is fair use.
- I don't find any of the hooks as arresting, if you will, as your previous disappearance hooks. ALT0 is kind of ho hum. ALT1 could be used, but without naming the suspect. ALT2 seems to be more about the suspects than the disappearance. Could you suggest an improvement to ALT1, or another hook? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 00:21, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Alright ... I had tried to keep the hooks devoted to aspects of the story that are really relevant to it. But if we want something better, I could go with something more clickworthy:
- ALT3:
... that Sidney Moorer said his wife handcuffed him to their bed every night after he ended his affair with Heather Elvis, who disappeared five years ago today?Sidney Moorer claims he was handcuffed to a bed the night Heather Elvis disappeared, WBTW - Now how's that for arresting? Daniel Case (talk) 17:05, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: definitely – but we can't use his name on the main page as he doesn't have a Wikipedia article. Yoninah (talk) 17:36, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: OK, then ...
- ALT3a:
... that Heather Elvis's married lover told police his wife handcuffed him to their bed every night after the affair, when they investigated her disappearance five years ago today?Daniel Case (talk) 21:26, 15 December 2018 (UTC)- How about turning it around:
- ALT3b: ... that after the disappearance of Heather Elvis five years ago today, her former lover told police his wife handcuffed him to their bed every night to make sure he stayed faithful to her? Yoninah (talk) 21:46, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

@Yoninah: Fine. It reads a lot less awkwardly. I should have thought of that myself. Daniel Case (talk) 22:18, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
