Tegwolo also widely known as "Tegwolo: Champion of Warri " is a Nigerian cartoon character created by Ajebo and owned by the House of Ajebo. The character is known for his mischievous antics, humorous outlook on life, and street-smart personality, it was created in 2016.[1]

Tegwolo first appeared in House of Ajebo comics released in 2016, he has been featured in "Tegwolo Series" on Youtube and "Tegwolo dash" mobile game.[2]

Tegwolo is a 9-year-old boy from Warri, Delta State depicted as a hilarious and energetic young boy, born to an Igbo mother and a Warri father from a low-income family. His adventures often revolve around his experiences at school, his interactions with his African mother and siblings, and his escapades with his best friend, Tega.[3]

Tegwolo, Champion of Warri is produced by House of Ajebo, a Nigerian digital entertainment brand specializing in animated comedy. The YouTube channel was launched in 2013 and has grown into a renowned animation platform in Africa. Nigerian stand-up comedian, Ajebo is the creator and voice behind Tegwolo, he is also the creator of animated characters, Aboki and Ajebo.[5][6]

Tegwolo has become a significant figure in Nigerian pop culture, influencing memes, slang usage, and social media trends. His catchphrases, Long shaped head and comedic mannerisms are widely referenced on social media.[7][8]

The Tegwolo series was listed among Nigeria's most trending YouTube videos of 2022.[9]

In 2024, Tegwolo was featured on African Voices change makers, a program on CNN [10]. The character was also featured on TVC in 2024.[11]

The Tegwolo series currently has an impressive following on YouTube, with most episodes regularly surpassing a million views.
