@Doug Weller: I have added a photo of Weller's Salamander to the article (Image #1, tail truncated, etc.)

Weller's salamander, tail truncated, continuing to regenerate

It may be the best photo available on Commons, but there are problems.

Image#2

Weller's Salamander Image#2

salamander has an intact tail, but is out of focus.

Image#3

Image #3 has a nice tail, but the hand is distracting. I'm not happy with image #1, because it appears that this salamander doesn't have a normal pointy tail. I'm considering changing to image #2, as a better representation, despite the focus problems. Ideas? More later, running late for med appointment. @Tribe of Tiger 2 is definitely a better representation. Thanks for all your work, much appreciated. Hope you’re ok. Doug Weller talk 18:25, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller Made the change. But, but! Have a look here at the the marvelous photos! Found contact info for Todd Pierson here & have recvd advice, from an Admin at Commons, per soliciting an upload of Weller's salamander.
Med appt = annual mammogram. Always nerve wracking, but screening saved my life, in 2014. (Size of a garden pea, no way to "feel" it.) I won't know current results until next week, per July 4th holiday.
Driving home on rural roads, we almost ran over a turtle. Turned around to check. It was okay, a Painted turtle Eastern (C. p. picta), I had never seen/held one before! Thrilled, of course... Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 20:40, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That’s great about the photos. Glad you didn’t hit the turtle. Would it help if somehow I was involved in the request?
I hate these waits to be told what was found. I’m halfway through chemo now but was told by my consultant more may be needed if the scan after my last chemo calls for it. I’ll know by mid August. Doug Weller talk 20:54, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The request...I could mention that a WP colleague is the nephew of WHW, & that's how I became involved? (No mention of your name.) Or, I could write the email, you could add as you wish, from your perspective, then we could send. Two people saying please, please, might be helpful. You have the family connection (& love), I have the love of herps, and respect for WHW. Either way, I will email a draft of my request to you, for approval, assistance, etc. I'm a bit out of my depth here, would appreciate advice. A joint effort, if you are willing & have the energy. Hope to something ready for review by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Thanks for the consultant update, was going to ask. Waiting six weeks+ is difficult, that's a very long time to worry and wonder. Easier for me, with four days, much, much easier.
Your respectful friend, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 02:47, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A joint effort would be great. Doug Weller talk 13:44, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller A very nice image has been uploaded to Commons by Dr. T Pierson, in response to our request. I added to both articles, & (hopefully, successfully,) forwarded the email to you, plus another personal msg. Messing abt to get the captions correct...
Although I might prefer more of a value contrast between the salamander and background, the salamander has its full body, including a complete tail, and the body colors (metallic sheen) are well shown. I think this is a better quality representation of our little friend. Hopefully WHW would be be pleased. DW too, of course! Thanks for allowing me to assist... Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 06:27, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely fantastic. Love the sheen. I can't thank you enough. Doug Weller talk 11:16, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller You are so very welcome, I am happy that we are both pleased!
I just realized that WHW is not even mentioned (or linked) in the Weller's salamander article. I am a neutral editor, so I can add as I like. I have provided info & wikilink in the lede of WHW, using the source in this Biography article, but I don't have access to the source. So, I may have been too concise? Poorly worded? Please assist if you see (and feel) fit to do so. This is rewarding work for me, on both WP & personal levels. Best wishes, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 22:50, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
