[edit]The only historical record of this expedition is in the UW archives, "Granville O. Haller papers, 1842-1993". It's in the University of Washington Libraries, Special Collections and not digitized. I've got plans to go there in the relatively near future and round this out. Accession is 3437-001, -005, -006. Journal book 1, page 8 of the PDF discusses the first time the expedition arrived near snake territory (in present idaho) and found the natives had advance notice of them.
