[edit]

Strickland "helped to found" per
https://www.nytimes.com/1991/11/25/obituaries/wr-strickland-77-a-conductor-is-dead.html
or "co-founded" per
https://www.newspapers.com/image/112564746/?terms=William%2BStrickland
(links to Nashville Tennessean of 1991/11/19, with a much more extensive explanation of his role).

I've edited the article from "founded" to "helped found", but don't know how to cite these as references. The Washington Times ref should be removed. Milkunderwood (talk) 23:37, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Washington Times ref cannot be removed, because it apparently contains information not in either of the other two sources found. But it still needs a link made. Milkunderwood (talk) 00:00, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Milkunderwood, the NYT ref was already in the article, so I cited it also for the "helped to found" fact. I can't see the other (subscription required), but we don't need 3 refs. So, unless we need it for something else, we don't need it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:27, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt, thanks very much, but I'm confused - there's the ref to Washington Times, but still no link. I know a subscription is needed for the Nashville Tennessean via https://www.newspapers.com/, or did you mean you also can't link to the WT? I haven't tried looking there. Where would I find that link to the WT? It's a good ref even without. So would be the NT but I believe we don't need it, because nothing new. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:27, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
