I created and wrote the article about (Sir) William Seeds in 2011 and declared I am his grandaughter. I should also add that I am now over 70 yrs old...I see inaccuracies in recent edits but it seems there is no way of questioning those as the editors do not seem to have valid talk pages/IPs. Also a paragraph which was there for over 10 years was deleted two months ago- it was under Death and Legacy and said "Seeds' papers, diaries and documents are kept by his granddaughter, Corinna Seeds ,Theatre Director,Hydrama Theatre PO Box 9, Hydra, Greece, 18040 on the island of Hydra in Greece, and may be viewed and referenced by historians on request" I yesterday put an amended version back in "Seeds' extensive papers, diaries and photographs were inherited and archived by his granddaughter, Corinna Seeds, on the island of Hydra in Greece, and may be viewed and referenced by historians on request." but is there a way (is it allowed?) to put my address and email? It was wonderful to have been able (until now) to have been contacted by historians and people who wanted to know more about my grandfather... one particularly touching request was by a 83 year old man last year who was the son of my grandfather;s valet and wanted to know more about his father and he was very grateful for all the info and photos I gave him... another wonderful request was from judge who had bought my great granfather's wig and wanted to know more about the family - should I perhaps change my user name? or what? I can see that mentioning my own name can be viewed as self promotion - but it is nt intended to be - it is a way of people getting to know more info about William Seeds. Is there a solution? You may use this page to discuss the content of the article or propose changes- all users have talk pages but may not be aware they exist. I would strongly advise against you posting your address and email in this very public forum, for security reasons. You can add an email address to your preferences and enable others to email you that way- but this isn't really the forum to make yourself available to grant permission to view documents/images. 331dot (talk) 14:05, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your prompt reply and I apologise for taking so long to acknowledge it as I didn't realise until just now that it was here (I am learning!) I have a P.O. address so my security would not be compromised if I added it - and in any case we have no addresses on this island and I live up a mountain...I haven't understood what you mean by "you can add an email address to your preferences" - where or what are my preferences? Can I add a reference web page link after my name or after my profession (theatre director) which contains my contact details? Is that allowed?
