I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Congratulations on your first Wikipedia article. As it's quite substantial, I've spent some time checking it over and have assessed it as C-class. I'm not sure we should be italicizing the operation names, so I've put them in normal font, but if you disagree and want to make them stand out then I wouldn't object to you putting the italics back. It's just that when you link through to the related wiki articles, their titles are not italicized so it's a consistency thing. There are a few unsourced paragraphs but I've not bothered to tag them at the moment. That might come up at the GA stage further down the line. I tend to think the section "Trip to Moscow – from Baumer's diary" is overly long and detailed so I've tagged it for attention. We do need to stick to the war-related non-trivial stuff, so you could try cutting it down a bit. That section also relies heavily on one source (the diary, ref [6]) with no page numbers stated. Suggest using the {{rp}} template to specify a page number for each diary ref tag ([6]). Ideally, some of the information in that section might also be backed up with one or more additional secondary sources. Other than that, it's good to go. Hi Rodney, thank you for all the good feedback. I have no issues with none italics on those links. I’ll go back through and see where I can include some more sourcing. For the diary section I actually cut the story down quite a bit but thought that it gave some really good insight into how at the same time that these officers were planning a massive strategic operation in a global conflict and were in war torn Moscow they were still drinking and partying. Since this is an article about Baumer specifically and not just the war operation it seemed appropriate. I will look to include the page numbers. Thanks again. Hi Rodney, I went in and cut the diary section down. I'm still trying to figure out how to properly use the {{rp}} template. I added page numbers before I got it figured out but will clean it up with proper {{rp}} when I figure it all out. Thanks for all you help on this. @DJ71park: I can see that you've cut that section down considerably, which is much better! I'll have a proper look at it today and can also help you with the sourcing. There's a page describing the template here: Template:Reference page. Just add {{rp}} straight after the closing </ref> tag and include the page number, e.g. {{rp|p=9}} meaning page 9. And now I can see you've already worked that one out. Regards, Rodney Baggins.talk.08:54, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've done a bit of copyediting and sorted out some of the referencing. Feel free to revert me if there's anything you don't agree with. One thing I'm wondering about is the Soviet personnel mentioned in the Trip to Moscow section. I'm 99% certain that "Dekanosov of the Foreign Office" is Vladimir Dekanozov, and there's a chance that "Lieutenant General F. Kuznetsov" could be Fyodor Kuznetsov (but I'm a lot less sure about that one). If correct, it might be worth adding these links in. I'll leave that up to you. Looks great. Thanks for all the advise on how to better use the citations. I'm learning a lot. Great work on finding those links to the Russain officers in his Moscow trip. DJ71park (talk) 13:35, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
