Mate Hegedus can you please explain why you think your image is better? @Mate hegedus:, @Cavalryman:, @William Harris: Asartea Trick | Treat 13:02, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Asartea: The previous dog has wet fur in the picture. The previous dog is either standing in a hole or has some growth problems in their front legs. White Swiss Shepherds have essentially the same pose as German Shepherds: their front legs/torso are much higher up than their rear legs. The new dog is from an award winning family, well fed and with dry, brushed fur. A more accurate representation.

Mate hegedus, Cavalryman, William Harris, Asartea: in the hope of putting an end to the edit-warring here, I took a different image from Category:Berger Blanc Suisse; that hasn't really worked, so some further input is probably needed – it was not in any way intended to be a definitive choice. In my opinion neither of the previous two images is anywhere near the best in that category; others that seem to me to be both representative and of reasonable quality are Sheba of White Starlight (2 Jahre alt).JPG and Berger blanc suisse3.jpg. Any thoughts? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:30, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Given that one of the editors involved has clearly broken Wikipedia's Three Revert Rule WP:3RR and would be facing a block, I could take steps to bring the edit warring to a close right now. I believe that Facebook is the place to be hosting pictures of owners' dogs, unless the shot is outstanding enough to be included here; that one was not. I agree that neither of the previous pictures are very good, but will leave others to make the final decision on selection on the new one. William Harris (talk) 21:39, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, indeed, William Harris, but he/she is a new editor and may not have been aware of our edit-warring policies and practices. I've left a warning and explanation on her/his talk-page; if there had already been such a warning there and it had been ignored, I'd have blocked the editor for a short time. That might have deferred, but would not necessarily have resolved, the problem. The new editor has a valid point – the image previously in the article was pretty weird, wasn't it? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:56, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Have compiled a few below:

1. Previous image, agree weird
2. Mate hegedus’s preferred
3. JLAN’s first alternate
4. Second alternate
5. Third alternate
6. Possible forth alternate

My vote in preferential order is: 4, 6, 3, 1, 2, 5. Kind regards, Cavalryman (talk) 22:23, 24 October 2020 (UTC).[reply]

I agree with Cavalryman here. 4 seems to be the nicest image of the bunch Asartea Trick | Treat 05:28, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
