I restored the historical background section, after someone deleted it in its entirety and without an edit summary explanation. Additionally, the Kentucky County, Virginia iterations were replaced with Kentucky. I restored the originals because the state of Kentucky did not exist until 1792 and the Westervelt Massacre happened in Kentucky County, Virginia, which existed until June 30, 1780. After this time, Kentucky County was broken up into three counties by the state of Virginia. However, I did add a qualifying comment in the lead article section, to clarify that Kentucky County, Virginia is now the present state of Kentucky. This should satisfy both historical accuracy of where the massacre occurred, as well as the present day political map of the location today. Belshay (talk) 20:50, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
