Removal of uncited information

I have no axe to grind in terms of this article, but I do believe that Wikipedia editors have the right, and a responsibility, to remove material which has been tagged as unreferenced for several years. I have thus removed from this article the information, which many or may not be correct, which has been tagged with "citation needed" templates since 2012 or earlier.
