27th Guards Rifle Division
[edit]The division draws its history from the 75th Naval Rifle Brigade formed in the end of 1941. In structure of armies of front Kalininskogo in 1942 the brigade participated in Демянской operations. For differences in fights it is transformed to 3-rd Guards Rifle Brigade (March 1942) which in April - May, 1942 is reformed in 27-th Guards shooting division. With a view of preservation fighting and revolutionary traditions of a division the name "Omsk" which 27-th shooting division existed and differed in Civil war had earlier is appropriated(given). During Great Domestic war the division was a part of 4-th tank army, 1-st Guards, 24-th, 66-th , 65-th and since February, 1943 of 62-nd (since April - 8-th Guards) armies. Participated in Сталинградской to fight, Raisin - Барвенковской, Donbass, Zaporozhye, Никопольско - Криворожской, Березнеговато - Снигирёвской, Odessa, Lublin - Brest, Варшавско - Познанской and the Berlin offensive operations. For services in battle it is awarded the honourable name "Новобугская" (March 1944), награждена by awards of the Red Banner and Богдана Khmelnitskiy 2-nd degrees; over 10 thousand its(her) soldiers награждены awards and medals, 7 award ranks of the Hero of Soviet Union.
