Origin of its name?
[edit]Why is it called the voice flute? I didn't see any etymology in this article, although admittedly my eyes are semi-glazed right now. Thanks in advance, Geekdiva (talk) 01:53, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- This is a real puzzle. Although several hypotheses have been put forth (one is that the instrument's range corresponds approximately to a soprano singer's), none have been demonstrated to have any basis in fact. I think an assortment of sources could be assembled, but I fear the result will be rather disappointing.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 02:02, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
