Joseph R. Knowland succeded Metcalf in Congress from California 3rd Cong District
[edit]JR Knowland never served in the 8th Cong District He succeded Metcalf in the 3rd Congressional District in 1904. Knowland held the 3rd Cong District of Alameda Solano and Contra Costa counties. After the 1910 Census, when in 1911 all Alameda County was the 6th Cong District. I wrote the biography of Joseph R. Knowland (Ustye (talk) 21:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC))
