Some uncertainties

i) I've deliberately not included a variants section, as the U 5 and U 8 are separate designs notionally and the sub-type (8a, 8b, 8B) usage is not clear either in contemporary or modern descriptions. There is discussion in the text.

ii)The photo in ref (5) shows a U 8 which a much taller fin but I've found no description of this mod anywhere.

iii) no pictures of the Lucifer installation seem to have survived; I was a bit sceptical about it initially but Flight, Les Ailes and L'Aéronautque all mention it, which is reasonably convincing.TSRL (talk) 17:52, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
