I added the 1954 WESPAC cruise missing into the Ship's history. But to verify it I went to all your locations to discuss verification, but not one said WHERE I go to tell you my verification. My data is from The Ship's Cuuise Book entitled, "U.S.S. Point Cruz, CVE-199 1954", a book containing the pictures of every member of the cruise by division, along with outtakes and photos of the places we visited. I joined the Point Cruz as an officer in Fox Division of the Gunnery Department in late January, 1994. I remember the cruise well. I met a Pan Am flight attendant the April when the ship was in Hawaii. She'd gone to college with fellow officer who recognized her as she was waiting for her room to be ready at the Moana Hotel on Wiakiki. I asked her to dance. I proposed 3 days later. The following weekend was Armed forces Day and the ship docked (after a week of ops) not at Ford Island but downtown, so the visiters could come aboard. That weekend she flew back in and said "yes". We celebrated our 50th anniversay last March. If you want pictures of the Cruise Book I'll be glad to send them. It's just wrong for the ship's history to be missing a whole year of activity. List in the references

[edit]

Claude:

Just put in the information in the article; then in the list of references at the bottom, put in the name of the document "U.S.S. Point Cruz, CVE-119 1954, Ship's Cuise Book", (or whatever the exact name of the book is), the date, and the authors (if known). 147.240.236.9 21:34, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Flight Deck

[edit]

Added a photo of the flight deck my father gave me - he served aboard this ship as an electrician at the end of WW2. Like some of the other men, he smuggled a camera on board and took this pic.207.250.21.216 (talk) 00:34, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
