Why Language Spit for USA/Canada is needed
[edit]Since is the third time someone causes controversy about it, I will try make a detailed reasoing why the language splits for Canada and USA are needed and why is not needed do for other regions.
For starters, is not a new thing, Spanish networks in USA tend to focus in soccer and tries to get those rights since most big networks in USA dont wants to show those rights, i dont know when it had started, but is a pratice that only happens in this region of the world
As the case of the Euro, while there has various other countries that speak more than a single language, most of them tend to be concentred in europe, and most of those countries tend to not have rights tenders since they are all obtained from a single source: The European Broadcasting Union (EBU). the EBU gets the rights of the tournament as a single entity and distributies to members without the need of spit sales or anything, it happens often and will happen for 2024
Meanwhille, in USA, there always has rights tenders for split languages, not just that, but also the winners can share the language specific rights with third party partners, as it is the case this year with FOX and FuboTV for English Language only.
For Canada, it is needed beacuse the french sports channel of Bell Media, RDS, won´t show the TSN Euro Games, those games will be shown by rivals TVA Sports from Rogers. it is necessary to avoid confusion.
This is not a design choice, it was decided based on the sources and facts presented above, as a way to not confuse and explain the situation for the reader.
