Indiana

[edit]

Could someone add information about U.S. Route 641's former route in Indiana?

US 641 was never signed in Indiana, it ended at the state line with Kentucky, according to INDOT. Detcin (talk) 21:43, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Really? Could you send me a link to that? According to [1], U.S. Route 641 was in Indiana from 1955-1972.
Thank you for clearing that up.

If I created my own website and said US 641 went all the way to Canada, would you believe it? This is precisely why self-published sources are not reliable sources. We only use sources which can be verified. –Fredddie 00:55, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can we finish the job of writing a proper Route description for the existing highway first? Then maybe put the junction list (a copy/paste from the infobox) into table form to comply with MOS:RJL? Imzadi 1979  02:30, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize if I stirred up any controversy. I just read that US 641 used to be in Indiana. If you could provide a link to proof that it didn't, then that would be great.
Thank you,

That website you're relying on is self=published, meaning that it isn't considered a reliable source under Wikipedias guidelines. The onus, is instead, on you to prove using reliable sources that US 641 did extend into Indiana, not on us to disprove it. Imzadi 1979  22:28, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Editing

[edit]

Can someone with more/better wiki-fu please edit the table of major intersections to indicate that the "Midway Road" exit is NOT in Midway, KY, which is located over 200 miles away? Every time I think I've got it figured out, the preview shows some formatting error. Thanks. JasonKY (talk) 15:17, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2015 southern extension

[edit]

I've started updating the article based on the now-signed southern extension. Issues that need to be tackled:

  • Junction list: needs everything south of I-40. Shouldn't be too many intersections, but adding mileages is still needed for all of Tennessee.
  • Mileage: changed to 177 mi based on the original value given in the article (132 mi) plus the length of the extension stated in the AASHTO document (45 mi). Possibly could be more precise based on taking care of the bullet point above.
  • Map: needs an update. Pinged the maps task force using the appropriate flag in the USRD template on this talk page.

It's too bad we don't have anything resembling a route log for Tennessee. –Fredddie 01:21, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
