Perhaps some mention of equilibrium / disruption theory would be useful? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.124.17 (talk) 06:58, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
New additions from "Facing the Extreme"
[edit]I added some material from Todorov's book, "Facing the Extreme," which is a major work on moral life in the concentration camps. I am new to Wikipedia and I hope my contribution was appropriate. Flute2!% (talk) 16:35, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Don't worry, you've mentioned where the information you wrote was sourced from, that's the main thing. The rest is housekeeping. One thing - it is preferable if you can also provide at a minimum the title, publ. year, and edition of the book you are citing, and provide the corresponding page numbers of the book where the information appears. There are several alternative ways to do this around here, for an overview of how this may be done, see WP:CITE and WP:FN. Cheers, --cjllw ʘ TALK 02:54, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Narratology
[edit]I recently read an important book on structuralism and semiotics by Terence Hawk, and in it there is a section on Todorov's contribution to structuralist literary theory and to narratology (a term he actually coined). I think that is a more important contribution to literary theory than the idea of the fantastic, and should be mentioned first. I also think it is important enough to raise the level of importance of Todorov in the annotations to the article. I think that the article is a bit off-base in not discussing narratology and in fact in not treating it as Todorov's primary contribution. An article about his theory is here: http://www.rlwclarke.net/courses/LITS3304/2002-2003/SN03AStructuralistNarratology(Todorov).htm . I might not be the best person to add something about this to the article, but will check back and take care of it after some time, if no-one else comes forward. Move to France
[edit]Does anybody know how he ended up in France in 1963? Because at the time it was not as if Bulgarians could just say "I wanna leave Bulgaria and live in France" or something and be allowed to leave. I couldn't find anything about it on the net.--Mycomp (talk) 05:33, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
Geologist
[edit]The lead and the categories give him as a geologist, but I can't see what in the body of the article explains this. What was his background in or contribution to geology? --Andreas Philopater (talk) 17:17, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
