This article places an odd amount of emphasis on chain fire and goes as far as saying turret weapons were prone to them, and that chain fire was explicitly the reason they didn't take off.
There's no evidence provided for this, and the final statement completely neglects the wide variety of manufacturing, logistical, and ease of use problems turret firearms present.
