What's wrong with this picture?
[edit]There is a painting by Willy Stöwer in the Military History Museum, Vienna, titled: Sinking of the Italian destroyer "Turbine" by Austrian destroyers on 24 May 1915. -- Also, from WP article Bombardment_of_Ancona : [23–24 May 1915] ..."The light cruiser SMS Helgoland—supported by four destroyers—ran into the Italian destroyer Turbine, in a pitched battle south of Pelagosa."
How can this be, if (as this article states) the Turbine was "Completed 27 August 1927."? ~Eric F (Talk)<--98.26.28.41 (talk) 22:14, 3 May 2012 (UTC) 22:14, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- Nothing wrong, this is possible for the same reasons that this ship shares her name with this one.--Darius (talk) 23:13, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- It seems the Turbine in question was a Nembo class destroyer, for which there is no WP article. See: http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/italian_destroyers.htm ~Eric F 98.26.28.41 (talk) I was just looking for someplace to link to -- looks like there isn't any. ~E 00:04, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
