Nomenclature
[edit]Ooh, here's an interesting nomenclature problem: should Toshima, Tokyo refer to 利島村 Toshima-mura or 豊島区 Tōshima-ku, both in Tokyo prefecture? How to differentiate the two? Jpatokal 02:03, 14 July 2004 (UTC)
- how about Toshima, Tokyo (ward) and Toshima, Tokyo (village) with Toshima, Tokyo as disambig? Ianb 12:44, 14 July 2004 (UTC)
Land area
[edit]The third paragraph says, "Approximately 47% of Toshima's land is residential, and 20% is commercial and public areas." That's only 67%. Does anyone know what happened to the remaining 33% of the land or how we could find out about that? Hephatsheput (talk) 07:51, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

Error in latitude/longitude.
[edit]The latitudes of the islands Izu-Oshima, Toshima, Nii jima and Miyake jima as specified in Wikipedia have at least one error, possibly more. More northerly islands are shown with lower numeric valued latitudes. The corresponding Longitudes are also suspect. My knowledge of Japanese geography is limited to admiring postcards of the bullet train in front of Fujiyama, so I cannot assist in resolving this error. Would someone who KNOWS FOR SURE which island is which, and where, correct this? This comment repeated for all four entries as above. 121.217.69.71 (talk) 10:09, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
Proposal to add Japan Women's University to education section
[edit]I am not sure of the precise coordinates of Toshima, as there seems to be some dispute over them in another section, but Japan Women's University is a 5 minute bus ride from Gakushuin University, and it serves the same area as Gakushuin and the other ones listed under the education section, so I propose adding it to the list. ‹http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Japan_Women's_University› Gary Henscheid (talk) 22:28, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
