Tom objects to the Theatre Sports Athlete descriptor

Depending on who you ask, 'Theatre Sports' is somewhere between a specific sub-category of improv or just another, more obscure and unflattering word to describe it. What Tom does is not sufficiently different from standard improv enough to warrant such a niche descriptor. I also can't find any serious precedent for people describing improvisers as Theatre Sports 'Athletes' outside of children's improv competitions. It's weird and infantilising. This would be the equivalent of describing Margot Robbie as a 'Dreamweaver' instead of an 'Actor'.

Tom has publicly voiced his dissatisfaction with the term and made fun of its use on the wiki page:
