Catalogization
[edit]Is someone able to catalogize the words and the grammar of Tofa to rescue it of being forget? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.100.80.255 (talk) 12:38, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- K. David Harrison has been doing documentation for some time, and there may be other linguists working on it as well. I'm not certain if he's involved in revitalization efforts in addition to the documentation, however. RlndGunslinger (talk) 12:47, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Speaker Numbers
[edit]I can't open the source for these numbers. (The first reference, in Russian). Does anyone have another source? Frankly, I find it a bit spurious that in 2002 and 2005 two different linguists researching the Tofa people and language found less than 50 speakers, and now that number has doubled. Do the Russian figures include fluent speakers, or anyone who knows at least a few phrases? Any clarification on this issue would be welcome. RlndGunslinger (talk) 12:49, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
