Winchester Stuff
[edit]At Winchester College there is a graffito where he carved his name as a schoolboy (don't remember if it's in the stone of the mediaeval Cloisters or the wood panelling of the 17th century Wren School building) and one of the Upstairs Chambers (dormitories) in College (the scholars' house) was named after him (although I think they have been subdivided into smaller shared bedrooms in recent decades - I last went there in spring 2013).
Don't have a published source to hand, alas. Strictly speaking it doesn't need one, as the means to verify the information is self-evident - visit the school, or ring 'em up and ask 'em - but some prat will delete it for being "unsourced", and I'm too old and tired to bother.Paulturtle (talk) 01:39, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

- I have now taken the three most salient effects of that edit and readded them in three separate edits, for easy reversion in case you or another editor disagrees with the thrust of one of them in particular. — Arlo James Barnes 22:25, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
