HELP PLEASE - TO CORRECT THE INFOBOX
Help please. The infobox for Bishop Burgess is misleading in its present form. It reads :
Bishop of Salisbury / Church - Church of England / Diocese - Diocese of London / Installed 1803 / Predecessor John Fisher / Successor Edward Denison
Burgess was Bishop of St Davids 1803-1825 (predecessor Lord George Murray; successor Jenkinson) and Bishop of Salisbury 1825-1837 (predecessor Fisher, successor Denison). He was consecrated bishop on 17/7/1803 at St Davids and translated to Salisbury on 17/6/1825. He was a prebendary of Salisbury 1787 - 1803, a canon and prebendary of Durham 1791-1825. He was never Bishop of London and seems to have no relevant connection to the diocese of London. According to the CCED he was ordained deacon 6/06/1784 by John Butler, Bishop of Oxford. According to Tout (1886 DNB) he was ordained deacon and priest in 1784 by Bishop Cornwall of Winchester. See the Clergymen of the Church of England database - Burgess is CCEd Person ID: 23281 , at : [1]
I do not understand how to operate the template for the "Infobox Christian leader", and I do not want to damage it by clumsy and inappropriate editing.
Could someone please help to correct the current Infobox ??
(1) I would prefer that the Infobox refers both to St Davids and to Salisbury. Burgess was of considerable importance in the history of the Established Church in Wales (see John Davies, History of Wales 2017 pp 351-2 - I have added this reference to the Wikipedia entry) - his work at St Davids is probably now of rather more interest than that at Salisbury.
(2) But in any event (a) the Diocese of London should be deleted ; (b) if Salisbury alone is to feature in the Infobox then the translation year 1825 should replace 1803 ; (c) if St Davids and Salisbury are both to appear, then 1803 should be given as the date of his consecration as bishop and appt to St Davids, and 1825 for translation to Salisbury ; (d) Fisher and Denison are appropriate for Salisbury, Murray and Jenkinson would be the equivalent for St Davids.
