[edit]I just watched the match where he won steve corino's WHC, they said it was for the fourth time, whereas here it says fifth. This is an irregularity which should be looked at.-— Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.206.96.242 (talk) 14:26, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- I believe that stems from the Eastern/Extreme shift. Sandman won 5 ECW titles, but the first was an "Eastern Championship Wrestling" title, and the rest were "Extreme Championship Wrestling" world title. Technically the same title, but two very important deliniations of it, somewhat analogous to the "ROH title" held by Low Ki, Xavier, and (briefly) Samoa Joe, and the "ROH World title" held by Joe and all subsequent champions. Tromboneguy0186 06:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for answering my first question. Otherwise, his bio during his ECW days is rather short, considering that he seemed to be the biggest star in ECW.
He's a FIVE TIME, FIVE TIME, FIVE TIME, FIVE TIME, FIVE TIME ECW Champion. Slapslapslap 21:14, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Well if the page says at the start that he is a four time ECW champion then shouldnt that say 5 time, even if it was originaly the easten championship, its still ECW. --Deathtopplintheir40s 11:30, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Well if anything it would be in New Jersey somewhere because thats where he resides. --Deathtopplintheir40s 13:38, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Heh, what's it called? Enter Sandman? --Kaizer13 16:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Name
[edit]Is it a defintie that Sandman took his name from the Metallica song or is it due to another reason?? bignick666
- He had the name before he had the music.-- bd (talk to me) (watch me) 14:18, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh, its just from the way the article about "Enter Sandman" is written it sounds as though he took the name from the song. bignick666
- Fixed it over there.-- bd (talk to me) (watch me) 23:49, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
As a matter of fact he had the name before the song was even made by Metallica. --Deathtopplintheir40s 10:49, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Theme Music
[edit]Should it be noted that at ONS 2005, although Sandman came to Metallica, because of copyright laws, the song had to be changed for replays and also that the song changed the next year to what he comes out to now?
XPW?
[edit]The Sandman had a long and successful run in XPW and it is given only a fleeting, negative mention here. I'll try to update that soon...
- I put in a bit of stuff about Sandman in XPW. If you want to go further in depth then do so. Mr. C.C. 07:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Beer?
[edit]I'm watching Raw; and in his entrence, he didn't do his usual beer drinking, hardcore entrance...I heard it was the same form the Great American Bash PPV. Does anyonw know why this has aspect of his character changed? they didn't mention it on air, infact the tried to stray away from the subject...JR said, "He always has that cane with him" (Sandman had a singapore cane with him). thanks, Harlan C.
They probably changed it because it was to adult rated for a show that little kids watch too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.82.165.130 (talk) 02:56, August 26, 2007 (UTC)
I noticed that aswell, i thought that he was meant to look profesional because his teaming with hacksaw, but then he just stoped all together, i mean yeah kids watch it, but that shouldnt stop the sandman from having his original entrance. --Deathtopplintheir40s 01:51, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Stone Cold almost always drinks beer when he appears, and they don't edit that out. More proof of WWE hating ECW? --Kaizer13 16:47, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Fired?
[edit]Anyone know why he was fired? -Gdfanatic21594 16:05, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Missed a show apparently. Hopefully he'll make a glorious TNA return. Tyler Warren 07:48, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
i talked to a wwe crew member saturday in memphis. When sandman went on the South aferican tour last week he was drunk the entire week he was so drunk that one night he couldn't wrestle.User:Cowboycaleb1Cowboycaleb 16:12, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- How are we meant to believe that? Davnel03 17:58, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- Heh, we can believe it or not all we want, but we can't add it to the article unless its verifiable. --Naha 18:05, 17 September (UTC)
hey i'm just posting what the guy told me. i don't care if you belive it or not. Cowboycaleb1Cowboycaleb 20:10, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
He went down hill when he went to RAW, hopefully WWE will re-hire him back into ECW, thats where he belongs and he never should have been drafted. --Deathtopplintheir40s 13:42, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
He belongs somewhere OTHER than the WWE! WWE doesn't respect ECW or its former stars. WWECW on Sci-Fi is just another edition of RAW on Tuesday Nights. With the Sandman gone, that just leaves Tommy Dreamer and Balls Mahoney as the last true ECW stars in the WWE. Or four, if you include Stevie Richards and Little Guido. Hopefully Sandman and Sabu will end up on TNA, and later on maybe Rob Van Dam and more. AndarielHalo 23:53, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
WWE is better!
[edit]OK mate, I think you just perfer TNA over WWE, well heres the thing, just because you seem to perfer TNA dosnt mean you can chose the right carrer path for the ECW originals, yeah WWE dosnt respect ECW like they should but WWE did bring the ECW back, and if they didnt then ECW would still be where it was for years, dead! At least give WWE that credit. And WWE.COM did say he was 'released" from the WWE, so maybe he wanted to retire. I mean all those years of wrestling and constantly drinking beer must have done a toll on him, I mean look how different he looks now then 10 years ago, he has aged drematicly, yeah its 10 years but he looks very different. --Deathtopplintheir40s 01:55, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
It is irrelevent which is better, fact is WWE is wasting good talent, thats why Sting never bowed to Vince Mcmahon, as far as WWE's version of ECW, it just replaced Heat, nothing worthy of noting ever happens, and the only "Originals" are Dreamer and Balls Mahoney, so how it can even be called the Original ECW is laughable, fact 2. TNA has loads of EX-ECW and WWE talent that is being used very well, look at Christian for an example he went from Edge's "brother" to being TNA World Heavyweight Champion. All the worthy talent is now in TNA. To finish, RVD, Sandman and Sabu should all go to TNA, they would be well used as "Originals" along with the Dudleys, Rhino, Raven and the rest. 87.102.40.125 15:21, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, because this guy says they should all go to TNA then they should, thats right, because this looser is the king of the world and WWE talent should all make a major change in the bussiness, thats right we will all listen to this guy, who does not even have a user name. well heres the drill, this guy is clearly a TNA lover and does not like WWE, all popel in TNA are WWE dropbacks, WWE denies then a job in the bussiness so they go to TNA where they know they will be hired because TNA hires anyone they can. and as for ECW being a comeback of heat, heat is still running, so its not a comeback. and plus, WWE are not going to drop ECW because you said so. And if WWE didnt bring ECW back then it will be where its been for years, Dead, with no ECW superstar in sight, so instead of telling wrestlers how and where to do their job how about making a start in your life, if you love it so much, why dont you get a job in TNA, it wont be too hard, just go to WWE, get rejected then run over and cry to TNA, then you are sure to get a TNA job. think man, think. --Metal to the Max! 23:37, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Ho-ho-ho-ho-hold it right there peeps! This is an encyclopedic, orthopedic and civicly vedic article! This is not the time and place to discuss whether TNA sucks (we all know the answer to that). Nobody has answered why he has been fired, and I don't think anyone should continue this discussion (and certainly not in the way it's going now) until a trustworthy source has been found. And that IS in fact not the bottom line, probably, whatever. --Kaizer13 (talk) 23:57, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Sandman was released because he had an argument with another superstar and also, he wanted to retire at the same time. p.s If you are going to argue about which is better WWE or TNA then make another thread instead of taking up space in this one.The Immortal Lord 00 (talk) 06:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- ........This is a new thread, Immortal Lord. hmm cool name, i guess i understand why you couldnt see the new thread, old timer. But the point is, Tna sucks, how long has TNA been around for, hmm is it like 2 maybe 3 years. WWE has been going for 15 years, and no end in sight. theres a reason ppeople dream of being in WWE, TNA just makes people think "Well maybe if i do well in this second rate bussiness then maybe WWE will pick me up" it might as well be the WWE's farm territory, and retirment company in one.Metal to the Max! 10:17, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
If WWE is so much better why did Booker T, Kurt Angle and Christian jump to TNA? and why did Sting NEVER sign with WWE when Vince bought ECW and WCW? Cos it's crap! All the best wrestlers are in TNA. Jay794 (talk) 14:46, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Why is the pic being deleted?
[edit]Can i ask why that pic of sandman 10 years ago is being deleted? I really cant see anything wrong with it. --Deathtopplintheir40s 11:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
page name
[edit]is there any chance of changing the page name to The Sandman (wrestler) or even The Sandman (ECW) ??? It would make it alot easier to find the page.--Deathtopplintheir40s 11:28, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- That is a great idea, people would find that alot easier to find the page, too bad nobody listens to what people have to say! --Metal to the Max! 23:26, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah it would be easier but they already have a page for -Sandman- so that would be a bit of a bother. The Immortal Lord 00 (talk) 06:27, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Crowd singing
[edit]Does the crowd usually sing his entrance when he appears.(Tho oringinal entrance.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Masterman4 (talk • contribs) 17:15, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes they used to when he used Enter Sandman. but that music is good, but his newer 1 (WWE//new ECW) was cooler, and im a big Metallica fan. --Metal to the Max! 09:15, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Redirect
[edit]This shouldn't be a redirect if you type in "The Sandman," it should lead to a disambiguation page since there are many other entries with similar names71.127.170.56 (talk) 19:13, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
New Child
[edit]Wrestlingepicenter.com has stated that Sandman has stopped drinking and he is a new father since his girlfriend gave birth recently.Should this be included on this page? (MgTurtle (talk) 03:09, 11 August 2008 (UTC))
- Wrestlingepicentre isn't a reliable source. If another source can be found, then I'd say yes. ♥Nici♥Vampire♥Heart♥ 05:11, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

- Disagree:the Sandman was a character from the cartoon comics, that was the first article, thats why this wrestler was named to his real name to save confusion and because of the Wikipedia character rules somewhere it was ideal to name this Sandman article by his real name. Sandman entered ECW in 93 but won the belt in 92??
[edit]Can somebody clear this up? The article states that the Sandman arrived in ECW in 1993 but that he won the ECW championship in 1992. How could he win the title in 1992 if the article states that he didn't arrive at the company until 1993?
