Article title
[edit]I thought that three disambiguation lines was a bit excessive, so I created mutant (disambiguation). However, the creation of that page raises the question of whether this page should be moved to The Mutants (Doctor Who). The only other article called "The Mutants" is The Mutants (San Francisco), but there's also The Mutant and three articles related to Os Mutantes (that one, Os Mutantes (album) and Mutantes (album)). Plus, if you look at The Mutants (San Francisco), it seems there are a bunch of other bands by that name — I don't know if any of them are notable to eventually have their own pages or not, but it's worth considering. There's also a Portugese film called Os Mutantes that was apparently released in the US as "The Mutants".
So, should we move the page or leave it where it is? (If we move the article to The Mutants (Doctor Who), The Mutants should probably become a redirect to Mutant (disambiguation) — if need be, I'll fix all our links.) —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 07:06, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think that the simplest solution would be to leave it as "The Mutants" and provide a "For other uses see The Mutants (disambiguation)" at the top, but that's just me, and it may be my own biases showing. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 07:19, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, right now it's got a hatnote saying "for other uses see mutant (disambiguation)", since that page contains all the existing links to pages that might be called "The Mutants". —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 07:25, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Muttmonster.jpg
[edit]Image:Muttmonster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The Satanic Verses
[edit]I just checked my copy of The Satanic Verses and found the relevant passage. It doesn't imply anything racist about Doctor Who, which contradicts The Television Companion. However, that would be my interpretation and original research. So I just tweaked it to mention that this is Howe's and Walker's interpretation. I'm going to try and find another reliable source that mentions this. DonQuixote (talk) 15:32, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- Here are two books that I have found: The Revisions of Englishness and Timeless Adventures: How Doctor Who Conquered TV]. I'll try to get a copy of these. DonQuixote (talk) 15:47, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Dialogue
[edit]From episode 4:
The Marshal: Investigator? Investigating what?!
Jaeger: Your activities should give him plenty of scope.
HAHAHAHA!!! Okay I'm done here.

- Talk pages are places to discuss improving the article. In what context does the above not run afoul of WP:NOTAFORUM.--☾Loriendrew☽ ☏(ring-ring) 21:18, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- Exactly. @Zweifel: If you want to point out inconsistencies in the plot, Wikipedia is not the place for that - try TV Tropes instead. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:25, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
