Untitled 2011 AMC television series
[edit]Don't know how exactly article titles are renames, but the series is officially titled 'The Killing' now as revealed in advertising during Sunday's The Walking Dead premiere, so this article's title should be changed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.101.236.63 (talk) 01:20, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Plot
[edit]According to the plot section, it sounds like it is not resolved who the murderer is, at the end of the first season. Is that correct? Please don't write "teaser" type plot outlines. This is an encyclopaedia, and we require full information.--81.99.202.66 (talk) 09:10, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, that's correct, the killer is not revealed. Richmond was the believed killer, but there's a twist which reveals he's been framed. Drovethrughosts (talk) 12:43, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Negative Reviews and Falling Viewer Numbers
[edit]I have watched the series almost to the end of the third season and find the show, that started out with great promise, to be ultimately unsatisfying for the following reasons: (1) There are no redeeming characters. Every character is deeply flawed almost to the point of caricature. (2) The characters serially fail to communicate. Stony silences are more common the simple explanations that might have cleared the air. This is skillfully used to invoke tension arising from dramatic irony; viewers see situations where a few kind words of explanation between the characters would resolve frustratingly painful misunderstandings, but the words are not spoken. This happens just too often. (3) The show relentlessly depicts a grim view of human nature; reflected also in the dark under-lit and back-lit camera work. There are no lights at the ends of the tunnels. It is just too upsetting and too depressing to keep watching. Now my question: Why are there no reviews that express this opinion, and why is this opinion not represented on the article page? I cannot be the only one who sees the series in this way. For those who use Userboxers
[edit]I created a few for the show, if you would like to add one or more to your profile. You may also request another with a different saying on my Talkpage. Thanks! — WylieCoyote (talk) 01:11, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Spoilering the killer
[edit]Yes, I know the WP:Spoiler page, but nevertheless I think that revealing that information in a broad cast overview is wrong. There are plot summary sections and detailed character descriptions, those should be the places for such a spoiler. You can't just ruin the suspense for people who may be interested in the show and just want to see who's in front of the camera. (I personally think that "The Killing" is a pretty bad show, but that doesn't change anything.) FTN.Sheitan (talk) 11:24, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
- Agree. This page and the seasonal pages shouldn't reveal whodunit since some people (especially in other countries) have yet to see the finale. It also keeps the "encyclopedic tone" intact for those pages. However, I created an article for the S2 finale in which the killer is revealed and added it there. — WylieCoyote 23:45, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
WHY DOES THE ORIGINAL RUN SAY APRIL 3, 2011?
[edit]THAT IS NOT CORRECT! There was a point where the Killing was cancelled and off the air and then it came back. Look at the original run on the Futurama article to see an example. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.47.245.66 (talk) 22:50, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say it's not correct. The series did debut on April 3, 2011. For Futurama it makes more sense, the series was off the air for about 5 years before it came back, there's clear distinction between the original series and than the revived one in terms of when they aired. With The Killing, it's simply debuting two months later than it normally does (June, not April). The extra infobox formatting seems a bit unnecessary with this one. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:14, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
I don't think it should matter how long the series was off the air for. The point is that it was cancelled and that has to be acknowledged in the orignal run. 24.47.245.66 (talk) 13:51, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- Then create an Infobox template to fix this, if it bothers you so much. Myself, I sleep just fine without that tidbit. And all caps is not viewed nicely on Wikipedia. — Wyliepedia 02:44, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
- Also it bears mentioning that the unsolved murder, which was hinted at in the first two seasons, will be looked at in the third, making the series concurrent. Wyliepedia 10:43, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
the spoiled ending in the critical reception section should be removed
[edit]the spoiled ending in the critical reception section should be removed regardless of any wikipedia glee in spoiling ends for people.
wiki is much of what is wrong with the world.

DVD info
[edit]Please add DVD info. Is season 4 available on DVD?-71.174.190.52 (talk) 13:39, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- Each season link has the DVD info. However, since Netflix has on-demand streaming media, I doubt season four will be on disc. — Wyliepedia 08:04, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
