Lead: I feel like there's a missing word after required in "by setting a qualifying time that fell within the required and the latter"

In the two sentences where you list the other competitors in the heats (for both athletes), I think it'd be better if you said which country each athlete was representing. You've worked it in for a couple of them, but not all.
