Fair use rationale for Image:Thebeyondposter.jpg

[edit]

Image:Thebeyondposter.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Lovecraft?

[edit]

This article is categorized as a film based on the works of HP Lovecraft, but there is no mention of Lovecraft. Also, IMDb does not credit Lovecraft as a writer. --Tysto (talk) 20:45, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, and removed. Fulci never cited Lovecraft as an influence for this particular film, the article never mentions Lovecraft, the film does not include any recognizable Lovecraft imagery or concepts. Fulci did call the location of City of the Living Dead "Dunwich" in a supposed allusion to one of Lovecraft's novellas, but there isn't even that weak link in this film. The "Book of Eibon" may or may not be intended as the same one created by Clark Ashton Smith; it's linked in this article to an article on fictional books in the Cthulhu Mythos, but even that tenuous link is OR. 12.233.146.130 (talk) 03:04, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Plot needs to be expanded

[edit]

The Plot is too short and needs to be expanded in more detail though not too much detail.--Paleface Jack (talk) 16:29, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2017 film of the same name

[edit]

IMDb knows a 2017 movie with the same name. Move this to The Beyond (1981 film)? Or add a hatnote and just add it to the disambiguation page? --mfb (talk) 01:40, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I'll make copyedits as I go (please revert if I inadvertently change the meaning) and jot queries below: Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 20:39, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • The plot section does not specify that it's in a town in Louisiana (does it have a name?) - sounds weird when later there is a comment about no blind woman living in the town...
  • I haven't seen the film but am very familiar with the Cthulhu mythos - is the book called "Eibon" or "Book of Eibon" in the film?
  • ....and the other recently deceased. - umm...a noun at the end of this sentence needed?

Otherwise looks fairly comprehensive Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 10:41, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Cas Liber! Thanks very much for your review so far. I've made some changes based on your advice - the film is specifically set in New Orleans, and the book is simply called "Eibon" rather than the "Book of Eibon". PatTheMoron (talk) 02:11, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Dang that sucks! The Philistines! M'kay will have another look....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 03:59, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
